This Week : Vice President Peter Firth
Peter has served 7 years on the AMPJFC committee and 3.5 years as President. Peter was recognised for his hard work and dedication to the Club being awarded the 2016 Senior Club Person of the Year
Current Position on Committee:
Vice President and Grounds Person
My current role as vice president is to support the current president Sheldon Brady ensuring that the systems and processes, constitution and governance that have been embedded into the running of club are maintained during the changing of the club committee. There are so many different aspects to running the club from a district and local perspective it helps to have the experience to provide that continuity for the first 12 months.
Why did you decide to join the committee?
I joined the committee 7 years ago as grounds person, responsible for getting ovals marked and building maintenance, I felt that it was that as a parent while I did not have time to coach I wanted to get involved and help out where very possible.
What children do you have at AMPJFC?
Tyler started his football in Year 2 Auskick with AMPJFC and is currently playing in the Year 8s with Rod Dowling. Oliver played Auskick PP through to year 5 until soccer got the better of him, though there is still hope of a return in the future, if Collingwood win the flag this year, it may bring him back to our great game!
