Congratulations Girls!!

Congratulations Year 7/8 girls on being 2023 Grand Finalists and Runners Up!! The 7/8 girls were pumped, full of smiles and ready to enjoy the Grand Final Experience today at Karoonda oval! It was never going to be an easy task to take on the competition juggernauts Piara Waters often beating teams throughout the season by well over 100 points. But the girls were upbeat, focussed and determined to bring pressure to the table.

From the outset, the AMPJFC girls brought their A-game level of pressure to each and every contest, with fierce tackling across the ground. They swooped on the ground balls and hunted the opposition in packs. Defence was key and taking clean possession. While the girls remained scoreless till 3/4 time, it was the scoreline of Piara Waters, that we could be most proud of, restricting Piara Waters to 2.1 in the first quarter, 2.2 in the 2nd quarter and only a point in the 3rd. The AMPJFC girls started the 4th quarter with a quick goal, which was eagerly celebrated by the players and supporters alike. Piara finished the quarter with 22 points, extending their lead with a final score of 50 to 6. The parents, coaching team and AMPJFC supporters were certainly proud of the girls effort and the way they battled out the four quarters, working hard as a team and for each other. What a great season girls!! Congratulations to Year 7/8 Captain Ava Bates who was crowned the MVP for the Grand Final Game between Piara Waters and AMPJFC. Fantastic effort Ava and a super finals series performance!!
